While Summer lingers and the heat makes us look for cool and refreshing things to eat, I decided to make a light tiramisu made with angel food cake instead of lady fingers. I also used Neufchatel cheese for some of the filling which is lighter than mascarpone. This cut down on the prep time and had it in the refrigerator chilling in a hurry.
Adding fresh Oregano to the filling gave it a touch of savoriness! Oregano is one of the culinary herbs rich in antioxidants, substances that protect your cells from damage. It also slows cell deterioration, thus slowing the process of aging. So why not have a slice of light and delicious Angel Food Tiramisu.
